Strathmore
Located in Kirriemuir, Scotland, Murray Henderson launched his Bagpipe brand “Strathmore Bagpipes” in 2004. This instrument is based on the remarkable competition success that Murray has achieved since 1975. A full time reedmaker since 1976, who was also involved in bagpipe chanter design since 1977, it was a natural progression for Murray to start his own Bagpipe business. Both drones and chanter achieved instant success at the highest level from the outset.
Strathmore Bagpipes produce a lovely, rich tone. The tenor drones are designed to tune nicely up on the tuning pins and the bass drone gives a depth of sound that makes a perfect harmonic blend with the tenor drones and chanter.
The Strathmore Bagpipe is made from carefully selected and seasoned African Blackwood and carries a two-year warranty against any naturally caused defects. The finish on the wood is hand polished.
